At Prehealth Advising Unlimited, we believe that high-quality advising is the key to navigating the health professional path. There’s a lot of information out there. Having a qualified professional who can help you sort through all the noise so that you can create a unique and focused application that reflects who you are and the type of health professional you want to be will save you a lot of time.
We are experts at working with applicants who decide to seek help while they’re in the application process, but we want to get to know you better! The more time we have to understand you and your goals, the better we are able to guide you through the application process. We want to help you apply the first time to the schools that match how you want to practice, what you value in your role as a health professional, and even where you want to live and practice in the future. Thus, the advising part is what sets us apart!

This is a great question! We know that physicians, dentists, and other health professionals can tell you about the path because they’ve had to navigate it themselves, but how many have the depth and breadth of experience of then helping others to navigate the path? Sherise has worked in public, private, and Ivy League institutions and has helped a wide variety of applicants apply to public, private, and Ivy League health professional schools. She’s also helped students applying to Caribbean and Canadian medical schools. Sherise has been in a Director role and has seen almost everything - institutional actions, criminal records, GPA concerns, reapplicants, postbacc needs (she directed a career changer program for several years!). Additionally, her mental health counseling background provides her with unparalleled skills to ask the right questions to get you thinking in the ways that you’ll need to in order to craft an application that will speak to an admissions committee.

Prehealth advisors are an excellent resource and great people to work with - remember, Sherise was one for more than a decade. But having been in that arena, she knows that many prehealth advisors are stretched too thin. While they’d love to be able to provide each student with the focused and individualized attention they need, it’s not always possible. At some larger schools, there may only be 2 or 3 prehealth advisors, so getting an appointment may take a long time and you may feel rushed to get all your questions answered, but never having the chance to develop a relationship with an advisor. Prehealth Advising Unlimited eliminates all of that. We have free consultations to make sure we understand your goals and needs when working with an advisor. We believe everyone deserves a quality advisor in their corner, but we want to make sure expectations are realistic and realizable on both sides.
-
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate more than one free consultation per person. We use the consultations for you to get to know us and for us to learn more about you and your goals. This informal, informational meeting will help us both to decide if this partnership makes sense; however, we don’t advise during these meetings. You are welcome to have your parents or guardians attend the consultation with you, but any additional consultations scheduled will be canceled.

Prehealth Advising Unlimited started because of Sherise’s work in higher education as a prehealth advisor for 15 years helping hundreds of students along their path to health professional school. Over the course of that time, she has kept meticulous records of her success: 91% acceptance overall for first time applicants (across 4 institutions and all health professions advised for) and 100% acceptance for reapplicants (across 2 institutions and all health professions advised for). Since launching Prehealth Advising Unlimited, Sherise has 100% success rate for first-time applicants, 100% interview success rate for applicants to Sophomore Early Assurance programs, and no data as of yet on reapplicants.
